Weddings & Events Manager

The Weddings and Events Manager leads the entire team that sells, plans and executes all special events taking place at Jorgensen Farms’ two venues: Oak Grove and the Historic Barn. The Weddings and Events Team consists of Event Coordinators, Venue Managers, and day-of event setup and support staff. It is the responsibility of the Weddings and Events Manager to ensure Jorgensen standards of excellence are met by effectively managing their department and collaborating with  other departments. This Manager must have clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, and making efforts to build trust and engagement will result in a strong and confident team. Having involvement in the event process from beginning to end, the Weddings and Events Manager will benefit from having excellent organizational and time management skills. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing recruitment and hiring of wedding and event staff, with support from HR

  • Updating and maintaining procedures and manuals

  • Training, managing and guiding staff

  • Coordinating and communicating team schedules, and professional cleaning and support services

  • Monitoring compliance of procedures, providing performance feedback, conducting annual reviews

  • Working alongside Event Coordinators to address event inquiries, offer site tours and manage sales contracts for all prospective clients

  • Maintaining and updating sales materials and working with the CEO to ensure it is in line with Jorgensen brand standards

  • Whatever it takes to create a comfortable, welcoming and supportive environment for JF Staff and Guests

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • At least 5 years of Event Service experience

  • At least 2 years of Management and/or Leadership experience

  • At least 2 years of Sales Experience

  • Ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds

  • Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft Office

  • Flexible to work some nights and weekends when necessary based on business and staffing needs


Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Management, a related field OR equivalent experience

  • Familiarity with Sales Revenue systems

  • Experience with Gather event management software
