Catering Supervisor

Serving clients and guests at Jorgensen Farms’ unique event venues is the most important part of the experience we provide. Meals are a large part of celebrations, and the Catering Supervisor will be responsible for leading the Front-of-House Catering and Bartending Teams in providing exceptional service during an event.

The Catering Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the team’s success through strong organization, positive leadership and the willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done properly. Having effective communication skills is a must, as the Catering Supervisor will be interacting with staff members and guests during all shifts.

In this role, the Catering Supervisor must be prepared to jump in to do whatever is needed to ensure a successful meal service. Having the ability to plan ahead, to manage time wisely and to think and act quickly under pressure will enable the Catering Supervisor to guide the Catering Team in remaining calm and thoughtful in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Catering Team Management

  • Train Catering Servers and Bartenders through training sessions and on-the-job experiences

  • Maintain procedures and standards for professional meal and beverage service

  • Lead the team in and assist with serving buffet, plated and family-style meals as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages

  • Lead the team in and assist with busing dishes

  • Lead the team in and assist with cleaning guest space and workspace after meal service is concluded

  • Facilitate expediting of meal service for all on-site catered events

  • Ensure cleanliness of equipment and workspaces and adherence to safety standards

  • Whatever it takes to create a comfortable, welcoming and supportive environment for JF Staff and Guests

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Guest-centric and Team-focused mentality

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with catering

  • Ability to lift equipment up to 40 pounds and remain on their feet for a minimum of 6 hours

  • Availability to work on evenings, weekends and holiday

Preferred

  • Leadership experience

  • Off-site catering experience

  • ServSafe Certification
